JOURNEY INTO KNOWLEDGE – EXPLORING THE MARVELS OF SOUTH INDIA – 2023

The Marg Institute of Design and Architecture Swarnabhoomi (MIDAS) arranges a number of excursions and visits to encourage students to learn more about the fascinating past and the structures that shaped our current state of affairs. Architectural field trips are a crucial component of training for any designer. During those adventures, graduates learn about and experience real-life structures and houses of significant structural value from the era of history to current times, which shapes their eventual professions.

Marg Institute of Design and Architecture Swarnabhoomi (MIDAS) hosts many tours and trips to make students explore more about the dazzling history and buildings of the past to understand the evolution that took us here today. One such trip is “Journey into Knowledge : Exploring South India’s Marvels”. Students made a debut from Thanjavur via Madurai, kanyakumari, Trivandram, Varkala, Kochi. In thanjavur they started from Gangai Konda Cholapuram where it is still believed The holy water of River ganga is stored in the well. Students also visited the historical evidences in Darasuram, The Brihadeeswara Temple which is fondly called by people as “The Big Temple” and continued their trip along further south.
