Amongst the many questions that final-year architecture students keep pondering in their minds, one of the crucial questions is, ” What next?”.

As with all the people who step into the real world from the safe and the secure ambience of their homes, it is necessary to make a well-thought-out decision for a future that is both financially and academically a profitable one.

Since B.Arch is a five years course, many students hesitate to take a step with M.Arch, a two year course with different specializations. But what one doesn’t realise is that in order to showcase our skills and stand out amongst the hundreds of people who have completed their B.Arch, it is necessary for a student to pursue their Masters degree in architecture. For admission to the M.Arch degree or the M Arch eligibility, a student can choose either to write the state level entrance examinations or the National level entrance examination.

In Tamilnadu, the state level examination will be CEETA – PG, ( Common Engineering Entrance Test And Admissions ) conducted by Anna University. It is decided to be conducted on 26th March 2023. If a student qualifies CEETA – PG , he or she can apply for the PG counselling through Anna University counselling.

Also , a student can opt to write GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering ) which is held in either in the last week of January or the first week of February, to get admitted in colleges offering M.Arch.

One of the benefits of writing GATE is that if qualified a student can avail of a scholarship Rs 12400 as a stipend until the completion of the M.Arch course.
